Job Summary: Responsible for supporting and assisting title company staff. As well as assisting with intake of title orders and assisting with escrow closings.
Education/Experience: A minimum of the following education/experience is required:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in administrative work.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Answers the telephone, takes concise messages, and writes down orders for title insurance.
- Assists in marketing the title company.
- Orders title insurance and abstracts.
- Assists customers, as needed.
- Orders surveys and tax certificates.
- Prepares and sends opening letters and “thank you” acknowledgements to all parties.
- Opens refinance orders.
- Performs all tasks of the Escrow receptionist.
- Prepares transmittals to underwriters.
- Assists Closer/Escrow Officer with final policy disbursement.
- Participates in an on-going comprehensive training program to maintain awareness of compliance regulations; complies with operating controls and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities if qualified or upon receiving training:
- Receives earnest money and contracts; opens guaranty files in Ramquest.
- Examines title and prepares title commitments.
- Orders title commitments and distribute to all parties.
- Orders and updates payoff/assumption statements as requested.
- Prepares receipts for all funds received from customers and/or lenders.
- Orders wire transfers and provide wiring instruction.
- Clears title requirements.
- Prepares loan packages for return to lender.
- Prepares documents for recording in different counties.
- Prepares both loan and owners' policies and mails out.
Required Technical Knowledge:
- General computer skills
- Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
