Buyer – Purchasing
The Buyer manages and coordinates all the purchasing of goods and services via active engagement of purchasing transactions within the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) and with our supplier organizations. Key point of contact with the hospital departments concerning their orders. Responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders based on electronic (EDI and other) and manual (fax, paper) requisitions from end- user departments, capital improvement groups, PAR and general stores locations. Maintains visibility for all assigned commodities to ensure that supplies are available when needed. Assist as needed other strategic sourcing staff in contract related issues and pricing concerns. Resolves issues around payments, non-receipts, damages/returns and priority orders, as required.
The shift for this position is 9am-5pm M-F
Preferred Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- CPM and/or APEX credentialing
- Good knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel, to pull and arrange data and other information needed for analysis
Required Criteria
- High School Degree
- Strong working knowledge of Lawson or similar integrated ERP procurement systems
- A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in purchasing or equivalent business environment
