Description: Provide English Language Arts instruction and English Language Development to high school students. Willing to be a team member to build the Dual Language program.

Requirements: Current Oregon teaching license valid for high school with English Language Arts and ESOL endorsements. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to bridge Spanish and English literacy as well as integrate English Language Development into instruction. Must possess a thorough knowledge of reading and writing skills as well as techniques needed to teach those skills effectively in both languages. Knowledge of appropriate practices for teaching multilingual learners. Willing to help develop and support the Dual Language program at the high school. Ability to implement effective teaching practices with strong classroom management skills. Data driven with project based learning strategies. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and parents. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exception request upon hire.

Qualifications Desired: Preference given to candidates with successful experience in teaching Spanish and English. Strong desire to create a powerful dual language program. Ability to co-teach; ability to collaborate across levels Dual Language PLCs; trained in GLAD or Constructive Meaning strategies. Hours/Days: 8 hours per day; 190 days per year starting August 2023.

Salary range according to the 2023- 24 Licensed Salary Schedule $46,642 - $95,909.
