New Life Center is seeking an individual who is a passionate survivor advocate and is interested in joining the New Life Center team working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The Family Advocate is an integral part of the Residential Department at New Life Center and the point of first contact for survivors, and their children, who reside in New Life Center's Emergency Shelter program. Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 9 am-6 pm

JOB SUMMARY:

The Family Advocate is responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through New Life Center's Residential Services Department. The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed supportive services to survivors through advocacy, safety planning, and referrals in order to improve the safety, quality of life, and resiliency of survivors who receive services from New Life Center. The Family Advocate position upholds New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate high-quality and trauma-informed support services and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking in New Life Center's Residential Department.
• Provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to all survivors and their families, including women, men, children, LGBTQ , and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborate with others across the agency to assist survivors with achieving self-defined goals.
• Be a passionate advocate for New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

1. Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or related field.
2. Valid Arizona driver's license and insurance.
3. Currently possess, or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
4. CPR/1st Aid Certified. **
5. A negative TB test is required. **

**If necessary, New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.

PREFERRED

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or a related field.
2. 1 or more years of experience within a human trafficking, domestic violence, and/or sexual violence program/agency.
3. Demonstrated expertise in the areas of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or homelessness.
4. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
