JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for organizing and prepping the kitchen line in order to prepare foods for the restaurant. This position works evenings and weekends as required. There are no supervisory duties required for this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs the following duties, but not limited to:
· Deliver exceptional customer service by preparing food items consistently and adhering to all recipe standards
· Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines
· Complete kitchen tasks such as line setup, food preparation, cleanup and breakdown
· Assist in controlling waste and cross utilizing
· Demonstrate safe and competent use of all tools: knives, pots, pans, stoves, ovens, grills, slicers, steamers, etc.
· Demonstrate knowledge of all basic cooking techniques: sauté, braise, poach, grill, poele, fry, steam, etc.
· Assist management team in fostering a cooperative and collaborative work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
