SALARY: The salary range for this position is $56,859.22 to $93,632.72 for Schedule A, and $56,859.22 to $88,951.08 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Superior Court Clerk’s Office is seeking an individual with excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills to serve as an Information Technology Analyst 1 (ITA1) in its Technical Division. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Clerk of the Superior Court or other designee to provide enterprise-wide solutions that support court case processing, electronic payment/filing, document management, and business operations.

The Superior Court Clerk’s Office (SCCO) provides customer support in both general matters and technical issues for the entire judiciary and external customers, including but not limited to attorneys, police officers and self-represented litigants. Additionally, the SCCO provides second level municipal support to all 565 municipal courts and their staff. The ITA1 position plays key role in that customer support, as supporting member of the Municipal Support Team.

The selected candidate will provide procedural and technical support for the cross- platform applications that include mobile, web-based and mainframe applications as well as enforce the security model, technologies, and standards. The selected candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to assist customers by explaining technical details in a manner the user can understand. The selected candidate must work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and must be able organize, prioritize, and meet established deadlines.

This selected candidate must be able to resolve a high volume of technical, respond to the customer service needs of the end users, creatively design, and implement solutions and document incidents and responses. Knowledge about municipal court operations and the applications used by courts and law enforcement is helpful. The selected candidate must be able to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and must be organized, able to prioritize assignments and meet established deadlines. The candidate must adhere to established Help Desk IT policies, procedures and standards and ensure conformance with information systems goals and procedures.

Other duties include but are not limited to reviewing and responding to helpdesk tickets, adhering to security policies and procedures, and using administrative tools to manage workflow. The candidate should also have experience working with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10, Server 2019, Active Directory, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio. This position will also provide technical support for Mainframe Applications (training on these systems will be provided).

REMOTE WORKThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

  • Research and resolve software problems
  • Research and resolve procedural issues
  • Test and validate system issues
  • Assist with Password resets/system access issues
  • Complete Payment adjustments -Chargeback and Reversals
  • Software installation and support of Municipal Court devices
  • Complete multiple tasks while maintaining help desk standards
  • Municipal Court experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ATS/ACS, eMACS/eCDR, and PageCenter Municipal Reports preferred
  • Knowledge of SharePoint 365
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
A Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
An Associate's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for a the required education.
An Associate's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
A Master's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education.

Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.
Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
