New England Homes for the Deaf in partnership with PuzzleHR is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a permanent position.
Now Hiring: Maintenance Supervisor
Full time: Hourly Hours: Day shift Days: Mon – Friday, possible additional hours as needed
Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor position is a “working supervisor” position; expected to be involved directly in completing various maintenance or repair responsibilities. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the pleasing appearance and the proper physical operation of the health care facility, and will perform a wide variety of maintenance, supervisory, and administrative tasks as required. This position reports to the Director of Housekeeping and Maintenance.
What you will be doing:
  • Supervise Maintenance and housekeeping staff of seven.
  • Provide training and direction, review work and assist in follow-up training as needed.
  • Monitor scheduling of maintenance staff and vendors based on organization policies.
  • Perform basic maintenance and carpentry duties to assure facility is safe and well cared for.
  • Track inventory and maintenance schedules to assure equipment is in good working order.
  • Assist in planning preventative maintenance plans such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire.
  • Operate within budget guidelines.
  • Assure the property is in good working order, void of any hazards, providing sufficient care for residents and staff
What you will need:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Maintenance experience is preferably in healthcare.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and direct others.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have full mobility, able to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, climb, stretch, as needed.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language and Deaf culture is a plus. Staff will participate in free, weekly ASL classes on-site.
