Nevada Democratic Victory is Hiring a Communications Advisor Near Las Vegas, NV

Nevada Democratic Victory is seeking a Communications Advisor to execute communication strategies that highlight the work of our Congressional Delegation and Democrats up and down the ballot, while holding Nevada Republicans accountable. In addition, they will lead local media outreach and work closely with local and national partners to plan and execute both short and long term communications plans. This position is based in person in Nevada. The ability to work remotely is not available.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

  • Organizing and executing regular press events
  • Producing and releasing regular written press materials including press-releases, blast emails, talking points, fact sheets, guest columns, and other materials
  • Working with local media
  • Identifying, briefing, and booking surrogates on local outlets to drive key messages
  • Develop messaging around issues for staff, stakeholders, and allies.
  • Briefing allies and producing regular talking point distribution
  • Develop and execute press events with surrogates and elected officials.
  • Direct proactive and rapid response communications.
  • Develop and pitch ideas and pitch stories to reporters in Nevada and nationally.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities, needs, and expectations
  • Experience with online communications and research tools
  • Social media fluency
  • Excellent writing ability and research comprehension
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to succeed in fast-paced environments, meet deadlines, and solve problems
  • Ability to execute creative earned media campaigns
  • Previous record of working and communicating with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Background & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in political communications
  • On-the-record experience is a plus but not required
  • Spanish fluency is a plus but not required

Salary range for this position is $4,500 - $5,500 a month with employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance. This role will be based in person in Nevada, and the ability to work remotely will not be available.
