To provide psychological services on the Behavioral Healthcare Services Inpatient Units. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. A valid license as a Psychologist issued by the NYS Department of Education. 2. This license must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. REQUISITE & PREFERRED SKILLS: Experience in psychology assessment, providing of therapeutic services, and treatment planning. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Unit Specific Responsible for provision of individual, group, and family therapy for inpatients as assigned by the Chief of Service and/or Inpatient Director. Responsible for psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan updates, progress notes and discharge planning applications as assigned by Chief of Service and/or Inpatient Director. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Supervises psychology interns and externs as assigned by the Director of Psychology. Attends and participates in psychology department meetings and educational functions. Keeps abreast of current psychological theory, treatment and testing approaches designed to maintain and/or increase population specific therapeutic and diagnostic assessment skills. Supervises Level I Psychologists as assigned. Complete requisite trainings, e.g. Preventing and Management of Crisis Situations (PMCS), Basic Life Support (BLS), etc. May be responsible for supervising psychological testing on Unit as needed.
