NetImpact Strategies is Hiring a Remote DevOps Engineer

Job Description

NetImpact Strategies has an opening for a DevOps Engineer to support our federal client. The successful candidate will provide network/DevOps engineering support services to the RegTech Team by supporting architecture, procedures, and documentation consistent with best practices in the use of AWS FedRamped cloud services for a federal agency.

Typical responsibilities include

  • AWS service configuration and monitoring, bandwidth analysis, and remediation of issues. In particular, assisting in the planning and secure operation of an EKS cluster of containerized microservices, AWS storage technologies such as AWS Keyspaces, Redis, RDS, the Authentication/ Authorization system
  • Translate secure federal networking requirements into DevSecOps deployment techniques, guidelines, and documentation
  • Provide support to the RegTech team in configuring and operating continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, incorporating security into build process using tools such as PrismaCloud, and identifying and resolving issues in the build-deploy-operation lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security and Systems Engineering teams to support compliance, secure baseline development, CVE remediation, and the use of best practices in an AWS FISMA moderate environment.
  • Provide AWS engineering expertise to support the development of the system by configuring FedRamp Amazon (AWS) EC2 instances, RDS Postgres, EKS, and other required services, and related security monitoring and mitigation consistent with a federal FISMA Moderate computer system
  • Resolve complexities and difficulties in maintaining cluster reliability and resiliency for RegTech team.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide standard operating procedures, architecture designs, implementation plans, testing, and related documentation, such as architecture diagrams, and implementation guidelines
  • Use monitoring tools to optimize, improve, expand, and upgrade network capabilities and connectivity, as required.
  • Review system logs to determine usage levels, bandwidth, and performance of the HMDA Platform and the Data Collection System, as well as find and address bugs.
  • Provided team with security focus through participation in daily standup meetings, monitoring, development, and creating issues in Github

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • University degree in a Computer Science or related field is required
  • 4 years of professional experience as a network / DevOps engineer working with cloud native solutions
  • Experience with configuring, deploying, and administering AWS services, such as S3, EC2 Instances, and RDS is required.
  • Solid understanding of network concepts and implementation details, from low level TCP/IP stack to Virtual Private Cloud Subnets, and gateway device, load balancer, such as AWS ALB is required
  • Experience troubleshooting network related latency issues in a cloud native, clustered environment
  • Experience with configuring and managing AWS secure container registries and Kubernetes is preferred
  • Experience automating and verifying backups of AWS RDS Postgres, Cassandra / AWS Keyspaces is preferred.
  • Professional experience shall include experience with federal network engineering best practices, automated network testing and monitoring tools
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
