NetBase Quid is Hiring a Remote Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack)

This role can be located anywhere in the US.

Compensation range is 140-170k based off of experience.

Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Rival IQ is seeking a software developer to join our community of engineers.

Looking to work with people that care just as much about each other as they do about the code? Ready to solve big problems every day while life, family, and health still come first? If so, Rival IQ might be for you.

Why Rival IQ?

  • Values-Driven Culture: We run our company in a transparent way. We believe in flexibility as a way to balance life and work. We value diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment. We use data to inform our choices and are proud data geeks. We delight in making our customers happy.
  • Community: We highly value our team, and continuously celebrate each other’s contributions. Everyone has a voice at the table. We smile and laugh a lot. We support each other. We collaborate across all functional areas (including tightly with product and UX design, but also with customer success, marketing, sales, and more).
  • Impact: You'll have the opportunity to work on all aspects of our product and platform, without silos. You'll influence the tools, technologies, and processes we use. You will directly impact our success, and see your ideas become reality.
  • Learning: Grow your technical and leadership skills by driving features from architecture through to delivery in a positive team environment. Learn all aspects of our tech stack and product, including front-end, back-end, data science, dev ops, and more, via hands-on ownership.

Part of us building a better place to work is a hiring process that doesn't involve endless 1:1 interviews or LeetCode exercises. Rather, the core of our process is an "Engage Day," a chance for us to have a real work day together, digging in on a real problem. And, of course, we pay you for your time.

Here is our hiring process:

  1. Initial screening video chat
  2. Video chat with the head of engineering
  3. Offline coding challenge (we’ll send you a problem, you spend 60-90 minutes working on

it when you have time, then email your solution back)

  1. Meet engineering team members on video chat, and walk through your coding challenge

solution

  1. Do an "Engage Day" of real work with the team (read more about it here:

https://www.rivaliq.com/blog/interview-at-rival-iq/)

  1. Offer extended; welcome aboard!

You should have 10 or more years of professional software engineering experience. Being comfortable working full-stack, and particularly in the front-end, is important. You can work remote from anywhere in the US (our headquarters is in Seattle, WA).

Our technology stack includes Node.js, AWS, Postgres, and ElasticSearch. We are early in the process of transitioning our front-end to React. We’re increasingly using machine learning and natural language processing techniques to bring better insights to our customers. We are constantly making our codebase better. We develop on Macs. We ship code every day and have fun doing it.

The primary job responsibilities for this role are:

  1. Design, implement, test, ship, monitor, and iterate on enhancements to our application, and the underlying platform.
  2. Solve challenging problems in areas that include building great user experiences, insight extraction, data ingestion, and scaling.
  3. Collaborate with teammates via engineering design discussions, code reviews, pair programming, Slack, Zoom, and other teaming.

Rival IQ is a social media analytics tool that aims to help our marketing customers use data to improve their performance. In late 2021, Rival IQ joined NetBase Quid, a market-leading social listening and customer intelligence platform. Together, we provide a comprehensive suite of tools for social listening and analytics.
