NES is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Folsom, CA

This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties in the office (not remote) that include ensuring the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciling ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Maintaining accurate records of both collections and receivables, ensuring that invoices are paid promptly and that clients pay by their payment terms. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with a high attention to detail. They will possess the ability to be self-directed once trained in our programs with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication skills are a must to join our collaborative team. Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities

  • Analyzes current costs, revenue, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses (forecasting).
  • Prepare complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Responsible for managing WIPs and project accounts.
  • Analyzes and manages the open debt of the organization and financial statements.
  • Responsible for payroll reconciliation, oversight, and review before processing.
  • Recommends improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
  • Assist with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses.
  • Establish, modify, document, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Prepare and process invoices and supporting documents, verify the accuracy of billing data, and ensure correct billing requirements.
  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for invoicing, collection, and reporting.
  • Responsible for expense tracking, reporting, and reconciling.
  • Post payments and identify discrepancies in payments received, resolve issues, and communicate when collection efforts are unsuccessful.
  • Process and compare invoices to purchase orders to determine the amount owed. 
  • Process check runs and set up new vendors in the company database.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintains and reconciles fixed assets schedules.
  • Compile monthly reporting for Service Line Managers, Directors, and Owners.
  • Back up for payroll and accounts payable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close, complete journal entries, and review.
  • Supervise and guide others on the accounting team.
  • Assists with initial internal control evaluations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 4 to 7 years of progressive experience in accounting including payroll, high volume invoicing, expense processing, and accounts payable with advanced monthly reconciliation.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning and Solutions.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Project-based accounting.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, ADP WorkForce Now, and Excel.
  • Exceptional ability to problem solve and advanced research and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, time management skills, strong math knowledge, knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and 10-key skills.

Wage: $80,000 to $90,000 annually
