Description

Summary:

Receive and unpack materials and supplies. Verify contents against packing slip. Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment. Count, measure or weigh articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, invoices or storage receipts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Unload and unpack incoming shipments.
• Process material through Receiving by opening boxes, counting material, and all other requirements of receiving materials.
• Examine articles for defects – sort articles according to extent of defect, record factors causing goods to be returned.
• Interface with Program Manager and Buyer.
• Enter daily receiving transactions into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, as required.
• Deliver incoming materials to the proper department.
• Package shipments in accordance with established work instructions, procedures and specifications utilizing required packaging materials.
• Enter daily shipping transactions into ERP system.
• Scan completed document packages onto server and link to sales order file in ERP system.
• Interface with freight carriers.
• Comply with all in-house training as identified in job-specific family and or specific training plan.
• Follow company 6S and continuous improvement (kaizen) objectives.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Must be a team player and highly motivated.
• Ability to prioritize and perform high-level serial tasking.
• Basic understanding and application of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail-oriented & good math skills.
• Ability to lift/carry minimum of 50 lbs.; ability to stand, bend, push, lift/carry and stoop at least 8 hours per day.
• Fluency in English Language- Reading, written & spoken

Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in shipping in a warehouse or contract manufacturing environment.
• Fork Lift experience required.
• Valid Permanent Resident or citizen of the United States of America
