Position Summary

Neogene is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Manager who will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for Neogene Therapeutics in the U.S. and Netherlands. This position will be entrusted to discover talent, build a strong employment brand and ensure great relationships with both candidates and employees. This role is based in Santa Monica, CA and reports to the Head of Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Oversees staffing needs and workforce forecasts.
  • Manages the existing Applicant Tracking Process (ATS) to ensure system optimization.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of Neogene Therapeutics.
  • Oversees job posting and advertisement processes. Performs sourcing to fill open positions, screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Scopes and participates in career fairs and other community events to attract talent.
  • Manages contracts and relationships with staffing agencies/firms for FTE and contingent worker positions.
  • Designs, plans and executes selection processes (oversees interview questions with hiring managers, conducts phone screens and administers pre-hire assessments, etc.)
  • Manages the interview and reference check process in collaboration with the hiring manager. Encourages employees to be brand ambassadors.
  • Takes steps to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending compensation, start dates, and other pertinent details. Compiles job offer agreements.
  • Uses metrics to create reports and identify areas of recruitment improvement.
  • Handles preboarding process and completes all necessary new hire paperwork such as background check screening and enters information in HRIS.
  • Manages employee referrals
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in keeping with the Company’s core values, policies, and all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other related field.
  • Five or more years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process for U.S. and Europe based roles, working as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Hiring Manager, Recruitment Manager or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle recruitment processes and employer branding techniques, preferably with a retained search firm or in-house recruiting team.
  • Life Sciences/biotech industry experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of posting jobs on social media networks.
  • Outstanding knowledge of HRIS, ATS, Sourcing and Recruitment Marketing tools.
  • Demonstrated success in a dynamic, high growth environment.
  • Exceptional interviewing, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills combined with a passion for finding world class talent.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • A keen eye on details for accuracy.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other database management platforms.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Santa Monica, CA is $125,000 to $170,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
