If so, the Washington, D.C. office of Nelson Mullins wants to speak with you! We are looking to add an experienced Administrative Assistant to our Government Relations Team.
This role will provide a high level of administrative support and assistance to a Government Relations Team. This position requires a proactive team player with the ability to work comfortably under pressure of tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. If hired, candidates would perform tasks such as maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements, processing expense reports, running conflicts checks, drafting engagement letters, assisting with monthly billing, and communicating with clients as necessary. Other responsibilities would include scheduling meetings with clients, event coordination, including Hill Day events and meetings with Congressional Offices, monitoring and tracking priority legislation, and assisting in filing lobbying compliance reports.
We are seeking a candidate who is detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen interest in providing purposeful support to lawyers and policy advisors as part of a wider team. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of administrative experience in a law office or Government Relations practice, stellar administrative support skills, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word. The ability to prioritize and adjust as new needs arise, as well as subscribing to a high level of professionalism and communication, are qualities required for this position. Top candidates will be familiar with Government Relations and Public Policy, possess incredible accuracy, strong IT capabilities, and excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Congressional scheduling, document management systems, billing software, interpersonal skills and professional judgment to interface with policy advisors, attorneys, and clients. Event coordination experience is preferred, along with experience in filing lobbying compliance reports and communicating with Congressional offices. A college degree is preferred, high school degree or equivalent is mandatory.
