ABOUT THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF CRANE OPERATORS (CCO):

CCO was formed in January 1995 as a non-profit organization with a mission to develop effective performance standards; provide fair, valid, and reliable assessments; act as an industry resource; and be the leader in providing certifications for those who work in and around load handling equipment. CCO is headquartered in Fairfax, VA, and maintains offices in Murray, UT and Palm Harbor, FL.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This is a remote position involving teleworking and an extensive amount of travel throughout the country, as well as occasional visits to the CCO office located in Murray, Utah. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Conduct Practical Exam Proctor audits in the field.
  • Conduct practical exam test site audits.
  • Complete audit-related paperwork and forms.
  • Coordinate and conduct audit events in connection with PEAP workshops.
  • Provide support as needed to the written exam audit program.
  • Instruct PEPP workshops as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with Practical Exam Proctors, site hosts, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to pursue and obtain additional certifications and accreditations.
  • Travel extensively throughout the United States.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

Qualified applicants must possess, at a minimum, a credential as a Practical Exam Proctor (formerly Practical Examiner) in the Mobile Crane Operator program, and may possess any combination of education and experience enabling them to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Hold NCCCO Certification in the CCO Mobile Crane (LAT, TLL, TSS) program
  • Hold NCCCO credential as a CCO Practical Exam Proctor in the Mobile Crane program.
  • 10 years of related work experience

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Solid computer software skills, internet, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong sense of professionalism

Physical Requirements:

  • Qualified applicants must be able to meet ASME B30.5 physical requirements.
  • Qualified applicants must be physically fit and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.

Expected Work Hours:

  • This position requires significant time traveling and in the field, including some work on weekends, offset with time off during the week using flex time. 
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with reasonable proximity to an airport and relatively convenient access to travel throughout the country.
