We are currently seeking a Inventory Specialist, based in Selma, AL. This position requires great mathematical skills to measure inventory levels, understanding of building inventory strategies and processes, and great organizational skills to effectively sort through inventory tasks and stay updated on inventory levels. The Inventory Specialists are also regularly on their feet moving throughout the warehouse and aiding other Warehouse Workers as they move products from one area to the other. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform daily inventory cycle counts.
• Report all OS&D, monitor any adjustments and transfers.
• Runs inventory reports periodically.
• Review and analyze variance reports; research and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform recounts and other research to ensure inventories balance daily.
• Advises supervision of significant variances.
• Audits back-up locations as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Inventory Specialists will have previous experience in a warehouse or inventory role. Inventory Clerk or Inventory Associate.
• Basic knowledge of warehousing and inventory operations including product knowledge and knowledge of receiving, production, and shipping processes.
• Knowledge of computer software and systems relating to inventory control.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with internal customers and effectively interact with all parties involved in inventory control.
• Ability to work independently to ensure timely completion of inventories within specified time frames.
• Ability to prepare required reports and records on computer.
• Ability to work with shifting timetables and changing project priorities.

Education & Experience
• A minimum of a high school diploma is required.

Physical Requirements
• Duties are performed both in office and warehouse environments.
• May spend extended periods of time standing, walking through warehouse, climbing ladders checking inventory.
• May also spend periods at the computer terminal or operating other office machines requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.
• Occasional lifting and transporting of lightweight materials

OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS
• Travel: This position requires some travel to offsite storage facilities.
