ROLE: 

· Plans, manages, and controls the development and maintenance of operating systems, compilers, monitors and other systems software. Develops and establishes departmental standards and procedures. Assigns work to IT staff, and monitors, directs, and coordinates their efforts, both internally and in support of other staff. Evaluates current and projected hardware and software, and coordinates the installation of new operating systems. Carries out policies contained in the bylaws, government regulations and as established by the CEO/President and IT Director.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

· Direct the efforts of the Information Technology staff and resources dedicated to supporting office automation, PCs and end user equipment, network and systems security, communication links, and database administration.

· Ensure the security of Credit Union computer data and account information, the integrity and performance of systems, and that systems operations are performed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

· Assume responsibility for effectively managing and maintaining the technical support of the Credit Union’s IT systems.

· Coordinate with management to establish and implement operating system goals and objectives.

· Implement programs, procedures, and controls to ensure that member data and information are secure.

· Direct the IT staff in analyzing, reviewing, enhancing, and tailoring existing systems to increase operating efficiency or meet the changing needs of the business units.

· Plan, document, and implement and test a business recovery strategy to resume operations in the event of a disaster or similar contingency.

· Provide leadership and motivation to employees through effective delegation and goal setting.

· Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area staff and with management.

· Conduct regular team and individual meeting to ensure that commitments to users and department goals are met.

· Keep management informed of significant problems and progress attained in reaching established objectives.

· Hire, train, develop and supervise direct reports, conduct performance appraisals as required, and formulate and implement employee corrective actions as needed.

· Demand of myself, and others, the highest levels of integrity, leadership, accountability and teamwork.

· Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

EXPERIENCE: 

· Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

· Five plus years of experience providing end user support. 

· Proven working experience with the Microsoft ecosystem, computer networks, network administration and network installation. 

· At least 1 year experience leading individuals/teams.

EDUCATION:

· College degree in a related field or Information Technology certification required.

SPECIFIC SKILLS: 

· Ability to oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals.

· Ability to devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by management.

· Experience in identifying problematic areas and implement strategic solutions.

· Above average communication skills with the ability to work with all groups within the organization.

· Proven ability to manage multiple people and multiple projects.

· History of ensuring security of data, network access and backup systems; identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to management; and Monitoring of system performance and implementation of performance tuning. 

· Experience with virtualization; backup, security technologies and technique. 

· Expertise in data center management and data governance.

· Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and hardware/software systems.

· Experience with complex IT implementation projects; Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 

· Proven ability to analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine technology needs.

· Advanced knowledge of application service troubleshooting.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Sitting; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confide
