Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command is Hiring a MECHANICAL ENGINEER Near Naval Base, VA

Qualifications:

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing mechanical and/or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) projects in various geographical locations; 2) Providing comments on technical adequacy and constructability of plans and specifications for mechanical and/or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems; 3) Visiting construction sites to routinely identify mechanical and/or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) problems and obtain solutions with support from the Supervisor, a Supervisor General Engineer (SGE), or other technical experts; and 4) Providing surveillance of construction contract submittals for mechanical and/or Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) components.
