JOB PURPOSE:

This position provides the handling of all special events & catering not only for Culinary Arts but also for the entire Food Services Department to include Cafeteria and any other food establishment that is started on the NTU campus.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in teaching Banquets and Catering
• Plan, organize and implement all catering events
• Maintain accurate records of all events and the cash handling procedures
• Communication with the Culinary Arts and Commercial Baking Programs or any other areas involved.
• Assuring all catering contracts are signed and followed
• Follow through with catering clients and Culinary Arts, Commercial Baking
• Pursue new business and other opportunities to create income for the University
• Supervise students in the field of study
• Assist in ordering procedures for catering events and lab products
• Maintain relationship with finance for documentation.
• Attend program, and department Meetings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts, Baking or Hospitality.
• Two (2) years of experience, but not necessary depending on education.
• Food Handlers Card.
• ServSafe® Food Handler Certification.
• Membership with American Culinary Federation (ACF) is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods, walk and stand.
• Use of hands for dexterity of motions, repetitive movement of both hands.
• Have normal auditor, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
