Job Summary:

As a software engineer, you will be working on developing a new medical device for use in a hospital’s emergency department. You can expect to work independently performing the full development lifecycle of highly complex medical device software in adherence to quality system procedures and design controls. A software developer is expected to interact effectively with engineers, management, QA/RA, and product management throughout the product definition, development, and verification phases to ensure the delivery of software that meets customer requirements with high quality.

In this job, you will:

Ensure Adherence to Quality System:

• Stay up-to-date and follow all quality system procedures related to this job, which can affect the quality of products or services provided to our customers
• Adhere to established quality systems and design control procedures and practices
• Complete quality system training on time 

Participate in Software Development:

• Analyze and review customer requirements
• Write and review detailed software technical specifications
• Participate in architecture definition, documentation, and review
• Create and update design documentation throughout the lifecycle and review the designs of others
• Implement required software functionality meeting established requirements and specifications
• Create and execute unit test plans and review the plans of others
• Provide estimations to support project planning 

Continuously Improve Products and Processes:

• Proactively provide recommendations on improvements to products and/or processes to increase development efficiency and improve quality
• Travel: minimal, up to 20% 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience software development experience with developing Windows applications using .NET
• Experience with C#, WPF, and SQL Server
• Bachelor of Computer Science or similar - Master’s degree preferred
• Experience developing medical device software/or similar in a heavily regulated industry
• Fluent with both agile and waterfall SDLCs
• Experience with reverse engineering and refactoring existing code
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audience

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 is highly desired
• Full-stack experience with .NET or Azure
• Experience with Perforce, JIRA, and/or JAMA
• Experience with design and code reviews
