Job Description

Job title: Quality Control Technician

Job dimensions

· Responsible for all Quality Control activities for Dorn Color including but not limited to color, coating, printing, mounting, collating, binding, and cutting.

· Follow-up with all departments to insure that Dorn’s Quality Management System is being followed.

· Be the quality “safety-net” and keep all departments accountable to agreed upon quality standards.

Activities

· Lead the QC efforts for all production activities within Dorn Color to include:

o Monitor use of Control Plans/Operator Logs(inform Department Managers of issues)

o Perform quality checks for work in process and final product

o Use AQL chart to perform random sampling of work in process and final product

o Monitor Hold Tag and Action Request data

o Track quality sampling

o Update quality sampling charts each month

o Identify quality issues and possible root causes that generate them

o Perform checks of color matches/standards to ensure that they are properly labeled

o Assist in the evaluation of color matches before they are submitted to customers

· Vendor quality tracking, quality check of incoming raw materials

· Vendor Quality Audits as needed

· Working with the QC Manager to update the Dorn Quality Policy

· Involved in the investigation and resolution of all Action Requests related to production activities

· Actively involved in the reduction of rework

· Analyze monthly rework data for trends and help identify potential corrective actions

· Reporting of the monthly hold tags

· Assist the managers and supervisors with quality training of new and existing employees

· Support quality effort at Signum as needed

Context and environment

· Critical part of our production and overall quality to the customer

· Production floor with machinery and manual labor combined to meet the customer specifications

· Climate controlled floors

Accountabilities

· Overall quality of Dorn Color

· Assist the QC Manager with all quality duties and responsibilities

· Continuous improvement for quality control

· Quality Manual Updates

· Quality Training

Qualifications / experience required

· Formal Quality or Lean Training preferred

· Highly organized

· Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

· Efficient time management

· Good communication with the team

· Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015 preferred

· MS Office product knowledge and skill
