Description

Job Title: Clinical Coordinator

Job Summary:

This is a non-exempt management position within the individual site. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the agency’s therapeutic modality as well as provides oversight of all clinical interventions to include group and individual treatment and the clinical/therapeutic elements of all the individual sites residential and housing programs. The Clinical Coordinator acts as consultant to the Site Director, Program Coordinators and Nation’s Finest partners on clinical/behavioral health matters. The Clinical Coordinator is under the direct supervision of the Site Director or designee and works in partnership with the Housing Coordinator(s).

Job Duties:

  1. Acts as an indirect supervisor to all Clinical Case Manager(s) and Residential Support Staff on clinically related issues/compliance.
  2. Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained throughout the site and provide clinical oversight of all residential staff. 
  3. Perform individual, group, and recovery services as needed (site specific schedules). Coordinates all clinical services to make sure groups are being ran in accordance to policies and procedures and individual sessions are clinically sound. 
  4. Conduct mental health assessments as needed/necessary with clients 
  5. Insure that clinical records are accurate, current through file audits and meet State Standards as well as VA and Nation’s Finest ethical and clinical standards. Assures strict confidentiality is maintained at all levels with regard to client information.
  6. Review all clinically indicated incident reports. Consult with Site Director on any actions to be taken and implement changes to avoid similar incidents in the future.
  7. Inform the Site Director in a timely manner of all relevant political, financial, clinical, and liability issues and make recommendations for any changes in procedures. 
  8. Participate in internal and external committees and management team meetings as assigned. Provides outreach to the community in order to integrate more services to the Veterans.
  9. Provides ongoing consultation to Site Directors regarding client behaviors, assessments, and clinical interventions. Conducts periodic staff/case management meetings as needed.
  10. Designs and executes in-service training to all staff as directed to improve client services and program design.
  11. Supervises clinical interns and field placement students volunteering and or working at Nation’s Finest sites as needed and if applicable. Meets regularly, on an individual basis, with the clinical team, to provide consultation and ensure appropriate clinical services are being provided to clients that meets agency and funding standards. 
  12. In coordination with the Housing Coordinator (and clinical team), discuss all client compliance and issues related to client exit (planned and unplanned). Both Housing Coordinator and Clinical Coordinator, whenever possible, will be present to exit a client from the program. When this is not possible, responsibility will defer to Housing Coordinator or designee.
  13. Review all reports of suspected abuse or neglect of vulnerable adults or minors and assure that appropriate actions are taken. Inform the Site Director if reports involve alleged maltreatment by staff, students, or volunteers. 
  14. Maintain personal boundaries within Nation’s Finest policy and procedures.
  15. Other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
  16. Requires occasional over-time

Required Job Skills:

  1. Ability to design and implement effective clinical interventions for substance abusing and/or mentally ill adults.
  2. Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing behavioral health practice and procedures.
  3. Ability to supervise clinical interns and associates in field placement and practicum positions.
  4. Must be capable of, and comfortable with public speaking.
  5. Must have the highest ethical standards and the ability to articulate those standards to staff.
  6. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  7. Intermediate level computer skills; proficiency with MS Word & Excel. 
  8. Ability to work with a diverse population of clients in varying stages of addiction recovery and to be sensitive to their physical, mental and emotional health needs.
  9. Current working knowledge of community resources available to assist clients with health and recovery issues.
  10. Knowledge of veteran's issues 

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in behavioral health field required. Active status of registration with licensing board of appropriate state, or Licensed or Certified Addictions Counselor strongly preferred. Candidates within six months of graduation of an approved Master’s program, who also have experience with at-risk populations will be considered. 

Minimum of two years’ experience (volunteer/intern experience OK) in community-based mental health and/or substance abuse programs desirable.

Experience serving veterans and the homeless preferred. Veteran status desirable but not required.

Offering

$24.09 - $29.16 ($50,099 - $60,646) per hour to start depending on experience and regional placement. Eligible for COLA increases each year depending upon funding availability. Outstanding benefits package.
