JOB SUMMARY:

To assist Branch Manager by taking charge of operations as directed, and performing responsibilities delegated for the effective management of the Branch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Develops, among assigned personnel, a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain Branch objectives.

* Reviews and plans Branch daily workload and assigns personnel accordingly.

* Supervises and directs personnel in performing operations according to sound operating principles and Company policies and procedures.

* Anticipates and determines causes of delays in operations, and takes appropriate action to meet schedules.

* Reports promptly to Branch Manager and/or appropriate Department Managers when problems or delays occur, and estimates time and corrective action to be taken.

* Directs personnel in the receipt of materials and supplies against quantities ordered and quality of specifications, and advises Purchasing Department of deviations.

* Prepares required forms and various documentation for approval of Branch Manager.

* Responsible for housekeeping of the Branch facilities.

* Interviews applicants for Branch positions and recommends candidates for hiring.

* Conducts orientation and safety training of new personnel.

* With Branch Manager, conducts probationary and annual performance profile of each Branch employee, and recommends performance increases, retraining, transfer, or termination.

* Applies Company policies and procedures in all dealings with employees.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* May be a member of the Branch safety committee.

* May fill in during the absence of the Branch Manager.

* Directs and checks daily paperwork flow.

* Oversees activities within the rental office.
