Summary/Objective

The Creative Director will lead our creative team to understand audiences while harnessing trends and tactics. This position will drive our creative strategy and direction, ensuring our brand values come to life across a variety of mediums. *****Remote work is not available for this position*****

Essential Functions

  • Manage team members, enforcing HR standards surrounding scheduling, time clock management, time off requests, etc.
  • Interview, hire, and train new team members
  • Conduct quarterly team member reviews and goal planning meetings
  • Oversee department reporting, determining who will be responsible for what report 
  • Support and grow our seasoned in-house creative team of creative specialists, designers, copywriters, photographers and videographers.
  • Create procedures and refine processes to ensure all production is consistent across channels.
  • Translate NMA’s brand strategy into powerful and purposeful creative concepts.
  • Inspire the team and provide the vision for our next generation of outstanding art direction, photography direction, videography direction, design, typography, and brand direction.
  • Use customer and industry data to inspire concepts, refine concepts, and validate creative programs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to determine which customers to reach and create the overarching strategy, channels, and tone to best reach them.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop project plans and ensure project progress and high-quality work are delivered.
  • Work with marketing and executive leadership to develop quarterly creative roadmaps and contribute to annual planning.
  • Ensure quality and effectiveness of the team's work, which requires building a collaborative, accountable and inclusive culture that motivates teams to achieve creative excellence.

Required Education and Experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience, 5 in a management role
  • 5 years of leading a creative team at an agency or in-house
  • A portfolio that showcases applicable work experience
  • Understanding of industry trends and today's creative landscape—how users engage with content, and trends within the marketing
  • Experience with advertising, digital media, digital marketing, events/conferences and social media
  • Familiarity with new and traditional brand channels / media
  • Work with the Product Development and Marketing teams to ensure our creative pursuits reflect their goals and supporting their specific needs
  • Help define our employer brand and highlight what makes NMNA a perfect place to do great design work
  • Familiar with 3D and 2D illustrators and the tools they use
  • Familiar with Animators/Motion Designers and the tools they use
  • Experience reviewing and managing outside agencies or freelancers
