National Debt Relief is Hiring a Systems Engineer I Near New York City, NY

Who We're Looking For:

National Debt Relief is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing technology team. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and management of critical infrastructure systems, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. 

The Systems Engineer ensures the smooth day to day operation and scalability of the system infrastructure. This role will work alongside members of the Infrastructure, Information Security and Desktop Support teams with a goal of maximum reliability of the systems infrastructure while maintaining system integrity. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs requirements analysis for systems missions and environments to identify functional definitions and design for system hardware and software
  • Administer and support all aspects of Windows Server across a physical and virtual (VMware) environment, including installation, configuration, patching, security hardening and storage/capacity planning
  • Manage public cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS)
  • Helps define performance and design constraints, assists with developing specifications, drawings, and configuration procedures
  • Manage Active Directory and all directory service technologies including GPO, DNS and DHCP
  • Provide primary analysis and support of the Corporate IT server logical and physical Infrastructure.
  • Manages and maintains the corporate onsite backup and recovery processes related to system, and remote sites
  • Manage the O365 environment including troubleshooting, implementing new features and managing end to end Exchange mail flow, archiving, retention and spam prevention
  • Partner with the network team to implement, configure and maintain solutions involving data encryption, secure file transfers, intrusion detection and data leakage prevention to protect client data
  • Design PowerShell scripts for automation of operational processes across both the server and desktop environments
  • Serve as an escalation point for L4 tickets from the end user support team
  • Keep up to date on current technologies, industry news, systems compliance requirements, standards and industry trends
  • Work with the Infrastructure Manager and CIO to keep up to date with the change management strategy, peer review process and incident/problem management policies that ensure standardized methods and procedures are used for all changes
  • Influence the design, development and enforcement of the company’s Information Security policy
  • Research and recommend solutions and tools; perform proof of concepts and vendor comparisons, offer solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Train staff on systems operations and best practices
  • Systems changes outside of business hours or after-hours support may be required
  • Be able to perform any additional IT tasks deemed necessary by management

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years proven hands on systems engineering experience designing, building and maintaining technology infrastructure
  • Experience with Active Directory setup and configuration, as well as a strong foundation in other directory service technologies including GPO, DNS and DHCP
  • Strong experience with Office 365 platform and Exchange online including DNS (MX, SPF), archiving, retention and spam prevention
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows (server and desktop) technology and related systems, including patch management, software deployment tools and security
  • Working knowledge of managing backup software for virtual, physical and cloud environments
  • Prior experience in building and supporting Azure and AWS environments
  • Experience implementing and supporting virtual desktop infrastructure using AWS workspaces or Azure Windows Virtual Desktop preferred
  • Experience with setup, management and configuration of EMC SAN storage
  • Proven experience in capacity planning, performance monitoring and maintenance planning to ensure high availability
  • Experience developing detailed windows administrative standards and documentation
  • PowerShell scripting and automation skills preferred
  • Sound understanding of operation and change management methodologies and familiarity with industry standards (ITIL)
  • Must be able lift at least 10 pounds
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) preferred
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work full-time, onsite in the designated NDR office location as needed
