National Comprehensive Cancer Network is Hiring a Director, Business Development Near Plymouth Meeting, PA

Reporting to the Vice-President, US & Global Business Development, the Director, Business Development is responsible to develop and execute on Business Development strategies as set forth in the NCCN Strategic Plan, nurture important customer relationships, and identify new opportunities for revenue generation. The Director is responsible for overseeing several major NCCN revenue streams including NCCN Corporate Council and related programs, Global Business Development, Health Information Technology (HIT), and Payer/Employer Relations, and achieving revenue growth while protecting the interests of NCCN and the integrity of the NCCN brand as well as motivating a team of professionals toward achieving business goals. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead strategy for US & Global Corporate Council program. Support Business Development team in the management of major US & Global Corporate Council accounts and cultivation of relationships with key funders.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on NCCN Content and organization to Corporate Council members; meet with major accounts regularly and provide updates at bi-annual Corporate Council Meetings.
  • Lead team in the development, execution, and financial viability of bi-annual and customized NCCN Academy for Excellence & Leadership in Oncology programs. 
  • Oversee NCCN Content Licensing revenue and nurture relationships with current and prospective Health Information Technology vendors, as well as with customers of leading EHRs.
  • Develop and lead implementation of payer strategies to achieve organizational goals for NCCN brand acknowledgment in coverage models; manage relationships with major payers and employer groups.
  • Oversee NCCN Global Business Development initiatives, including NCCN Global Corporate Council, Global Commercial Alliances, NCCN Global Academy for Excellence & Leadership in Oncology, and NCCN Guidelines and derivative product translations.
  • Oversee NCCN staff coordination of NCCN Products & Services Committee, NCCN Employer Advisory Group, and related activities.
  • Build business development relationships with professionals from pharma/biotech, diagnostic and medical device companies by attending leadership meetings, conducting outreach, and building contacts.
  • Prospect potential NCCN funding sources and attend relevant national conferences.
  • Develop program budgets with accountability for achieving revenue and profitability goals.
  • Lead and develop Business Development staff, prioritize work load, and suggest continuing education programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements

EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 7-10 years’ experience within the not-for-profit, health care, managed care, pharmaceutical/biotech industries or equivalent 
  • Experience in account management/sales or intellectual property licensing
  • Demonstrated credibility and relationships within the health care space, pharma and/or payer environment 
  • Excellent working knowledge of health care industry 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working independently and in groups in a collegial manner, including cross functional teams and internal/external networking
  • Understanding of health information technology’s direction, trends and strategic business impact on industry
  • Experience in translating strategy into tactical implementation and in motivating team to execute on strategy
  • P/L management experience
  • Contracting experience required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Oncology experience required
  • Moderate overnight travel required
