POSITION: Director, Marketing
FUNCTION: Marketing and Community Engagement
RESPONSIBILITY OF: GM – NSS / SVP - Speedway
POSITION LOCATION: Nashville Superspeedway
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Speedway Motorsports is seeking a Director, Marketing to play an integral role in leading our organization by taking care of the team members who carry out the marketing function at the speedways within Speedway Motorsports. 
The ideal candidate will adopt a GLOBE mentality. GLOBE stands for Generously Lending Our Best Efforts. This is done by holding themselves and their teammates accountable for taking our best practices “the last mile” – optimizing them for maximum value to all of our stakeholders while sharing insights on how to improve our company. The ideal candidate will also be a productive and proactive self-starter who is passionate about his/her duties and willing to put forth the extra effort in pursuit of achieve excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the success of assigned teammates in the Marketing function
· This position will live, breathe, cultivate, protect and maintain the Nashville Superspeedway brand while keeping ticket sales, sponsorship sales and brand awareness top-of-mind.
· Serve as Marketing function leader
· Working closely and collaboratively with Consumer Strategy, Events, and Ticketing function leaders along with speedway General Manager to lead the creation, enhancing and utilization of Speedway Motorsports business processes and marketing templates including business plans, creative briefs, project briefs, budgets and creative development / management to meet objectives including:
§ Filling the grandstands and campgrounds for events and driving admissions revenue
§ Developing campaign creative
§ Managing resources including
· marketing team members
· budgets
· third party marketing agencies including NASCAR Productions
§ Using insights and data from consumer strategy group to measure and improve marketing campaign effectiveness
o Work with Ticketing to develop ticketing campaigns, improved customer information, and frictionless ticket purchase process
o Oversee the development and execution of a brand development strategy, content strategy, earned and paid media strategy, including all media buying.
o Manage multi-platform marketing and content strategy in order to establish an overall digital and social voice, increase followers and increase engagement across:
§ Instagram
§ Twitter
§ Facebook
§ Websites
§ Email
§ Speedway Apps
§ Broadcast
§ Radio
§ Out of Home Display
§ Satisfi Labs chatbot platform on speedway websites and apps for service and sales
§ Ticket purchase process on all platforms
o Work across the organization to create marketing and PR strategies, ticket promotions, sponsorship pitches and activations.
o Develop comprehensive community engagement strategies that will establish and amplify NSS’ community presence, partnerships and activations.
o Communicate regularly with track marketing staff and GM to set overall strategy
§ Act as a resource, provide counsel to track teams
§ Work with track team to set branding strategy and executional plans for secondary events.
o Identify, use, and share best practices across speedways and 
§ Provide counsel to track marketing personnel across the enterprise
o Develop and improve marketing plans including campaigns around
§ Key user groups
· Motorsports enthusiasts
· Campers
· Families
· Live event attendees
§ Renewal and Retention efforts
o Plan, implement and manage Speedway website and app content and analytics to ensure the online transaction process is optimized for consumer transactions.
o Lead, train and mentor direct reports, providing the right balance of direction and freedom while maintaining complete accountability for the team’s ultimate performance. 
o Benchmark and improve the customer experience (based on CSS data) in order to leverage improvements for customer acquisition and retention.
§ Departments include Levy, ticketing, operations, security, maintenance, finance, camping, transportation, fire/safety, merchandise, public relations
o Work with Speedway and NASCAR to effectively and efficiently coordinate marketing and PR efforts and use of the Joint Marketing Funds and the Driver Event Promotions for your NASCAR event
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Five to seven years of measurable success in managing brands and creative marketing campaigns
· Willingness to work with teammates across the entire organization to deliver measurable marketing results
