Overview

The Senior Cost Accountant directs activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. The position provides recommendations to senior management in support of the achievement of Company goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops standard cost calculation procedure according to the Group guidelines;
• Calculates product standard cost according to defined procedure;
• Participates in the new product cost analysis and quote template liaison with Tech/Sales team;
• Track manufacturing variances with under / over absorption in details;
• Analyzes on variances in a timely basis and suggest actions;
• Runs standard cost in Epics for new parts on daily basis;
• Uploads raw material standard quarterly roll up file to Epics;
• Reviews and controls inventory balance with aging breakdown;
• Works closely with Production/Planning and Sales team to push over aging items selling, consumption and disposal;
• Verifies scrap application form to check whether the scrap belong to planned / unplanned scrap; confirm the scrap amount and calculate the P&L impact;
• Reviews weekly inventory finished goods, pushing Sales and Production/Planning team to clean long age items;
• Verifies and posts inventory adjustment in to ensure only authorized adjustment had been made in system;
  Performs dock walk at the Friday of closing week to ensure goods delivered in Epics had been physically shipped out;
• Closes month end inventory report at Day 1 noon;
• Prepares Inventory report by Raw material, WIP and Finished Goods and by production line;
• Prepares aged inventory reserve calculation sheet and analyze variance reason;
• Prepare Operation related revenue and COGS report by Customers by Die by part no.
• Prepares monthly inventory aging report and conducts analysis on individual risk goods, then notifies Planning/ Warehouse & Sales team;
• Prepares summary report on abnormal inventory variance;
• Assists VP Finance in the development of the overhead spending, budget and variance planning;
• Prepares monthly company/group reporting;
• Standardizes and improves standard cost maintenance procedure with Epics team, including engineer BOM setup, sourcing info record input, etc., to fix the issue of finished goods cannot been received timely;
• Find opportunity to improve procedure about standard costing with Epics
• Supports localization project for any cost analysis;
• Supports auditor for any inventory, shipping, and costing related questions;
• Provide data for biding of freight vendor, scrap dealer…etc.;
• Continues improvement on daily transaction to improve work efficiency (i.e. improve standard new material application form, etc.);
• Prepares special projects and analyses, as needed;
• Recommends and implements system and procedural improvements and participates on cost savings and cost improvement terms;
• Performs other required tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred;
• Previous experience as an accountant, junior accountant, or accounting supervisor;
• Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge;
• Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation a plus
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations;
• Able to analyze financial records and interpret for other departments;
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
