As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will be a part of the multidisciplinary team with ARP Management, LLC dba Atlanta Recovery Place, who is directly involved in providing quality care for clients. Our Behavioral Health Technicians are in direct contact with our clients whom are transitioning from an active addiction lifestyle to recovery. A professional and strong compassionate mindset are a must as well as a current, valid driver’s license with a clean record. If you are a disciplined individual with strong emotional intelligence, then we would love to have you on our team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Documents client information in the log book using appropriate forms in a timely manner.
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed.
  • Ensures clients attend scheduled activities.
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality of client information and records.
  • Recognizes crisis situations and provides appropriate interventions based on training and experience.
  • Monitors and maintains the safety and security of the clients and the facility.
  • Addresses negative behaviors with a positive attitude.
  • Conducts and/or monitors educational groups as assigned (day & evening shifts).
  • Performs periodic inspections of the facility and develops corrective action plans to address problems.
  • Supervises client activities including breaks, work assignments, recreational activities, and other activities.
  • Performs maintenance/cleaning and monitor-direct clients into maintaining their areas clean and orderly.
  • Documents activities in accordance with agency practices.
  • Transports clients.
  • Supervises clients during activities off site.
  • Maintains confidentiality, as per agency practices and confidentiality law.
  • Performs support functions such as filing (primarily night shift), answering telephone calls, and greeting facility visitors.
  • Monitors visitation sessions.
  • Plans and conducts special activities, as assigned.
  • Inspects packages and mail for program compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Get along with co-workers, peers, clients, etc.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent. One year of experience working with clients in a substance abuse or mental health setting, working knowledge of psychiatric disorders and the 12 step philosophy, computer literacy, and excellent supervisor references. Willingness to obtain 10 hours of continuing education annually.

Ability to ambulate to several different places throughout the day.

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, or reach.

A current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Desired Qualifications: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) Certification. CPR and First Aid / CPI Certified.
