Your purpose: 
As the Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all transportation-related operations. To be successful in this role, the Transportation Manager must budget and forecast all transport needs for international and domestic loads across various modes of carriage.
Strong communication with all parties involved is key while ensuring carrier rates remain competitive. The Transportation Manager is also responsible for ensuring our growth is sustained by locking capacity where needed and is in charge of managing a transportation team who assists with activities such as scheduling, tracking, and other admin-related tasks
This role will report directly to the Director of Operations.

To nail your job you will: 

  • Oversees rate planning to ensure we are paying at or below market rates across all of our carriers and partners
  • Execute annual pricing exercises and RFPs as needed to maintain quality and cost expectations
  • Works with the Inventory Planning Team to coordinate inventory replenishment needs across the fulfillment network
  • Create budgets and forecasting to ensure finance and the rest of the business are aware of cost changes throughout the year
  • Develop and foster productive relationships with carriers, brokers, and other partners
  • Monitor and schedule inbound deliveries to the warehouse(s)
  • Manage the transportation for Imported and Domestic bulk wine shipments
  • Manage inventory receipts for bulk and finished goods based on delivered quantities
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains new staff in the department
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics
  • 1 - 2 years of management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to analyze data and performance to assess opportunities and inform decision-making.
  • Being ridiculously organized and quick to hit the ground running — you are attentive to the minute details of processes and have a knack for seeing problems before they show up — and are willing and ready to dive in wherever needed
  • Attention to detail and organizational ability is important. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A determination to produce quality work products within tight time frames
  • Operates at the highest level of professionalism and personal integrity
  • This is a hybrid position that is based out of our Napa office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skilled with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and/or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Experience with an e-Commerce business
  • Prior transportation work in the wine industry
  • Experience with various systems, WMS, ERPs, TMS, etc.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $95,000 (depending on experience) 
  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance - 90% employee coverage, 60% dependent coverage. Eligible Day 1.
  • Holiday allowance - 34 days of paid time off, including 20 days of accrued paid time off (PTO) and 12 paid company holidays. Paid time off also includes your Birthday, plus one additional day for Volunteer Efforts.
  • Retirement plan - 4% employer match. Eligible Day 1. 
  • Wine allowance - $40 a month towards your Nakedwines.com account
  • Gym contribution - Up to $25 a month towards a gym membership
  • Personal Pathways - the Company will pay up to $500 annually towards training on any topic you may be personally interested in pursuing (doesn't have to be work-related)
