Myriad Technical Services Corp is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Baltimore, MD
Position Overview:
This will be a hybrid role – 2 days onsite (Tues. & Wed.); remote 3 days/week.
Travel will be required 1x/week at most; site visits are up to 1-hr away from reporting location; PPE that will be provided will include 1 set of coveralls, safety vest, safety goggles and hard hat (contractor will be responsible for sturdy work boots & additional FR clothing)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 6 years of professional engineering experience
- Completed Assignments and Projects showing evidence of:
- Distribution and Transmission Substation design
- Ability to analyze and specify high voltage utility equipment and electrical systems
- Knowledge and experience creating substation physical layouts
- Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory
- Knowledge and experience with NESC and various IEEE standards related to substation design
- Experience performing cable loading studies using CYMCAP cable ampacity software
- Experience analysis ground grid systems using CDEGS grounding analysis software
- Experience conducting lightning protection studies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems focus/specialty
- Experience designing 480volt electrical distribution systems
- Knowledge and experience design transmission and distribution networks
- Experience using AutoCAD design software
- Experience with Overhead and Underground distribution construction standards
- Knowledge and experience with GIS Substation design
- Experience creating specifications for high voltage electrical equipment
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
