About the role:

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Sales Director is a vital, proven leader who has the ability to manage all of the efforts across the entire sales organization.

They are responsible for partnering with the VP of Sales to identify areas of opportunity for improvement across the team, plan new initiatives and oversee creation and implementation of new processes and programs. They will also be responsible for motivating their managers to drive targeted metric attainment and for creating incentive structures across the organization, including commission plans, contests and spiffs. 

The ideal Sales Director is driven to win; self motivated, client-centric, goal-oriented, and strategic. Must have a proven track record of leading teams to achieving measurable sales goals. A background in (and passion for) real estate - while not required for this role - is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

Developing the Sales Strategy --- Creating a framework within the sales force to identify new avenues for growth:

  • Increased penetration of existing accounts
  • New account development , pipeline management
  • New product introduction and promotion
  • Partnering with other Departmental Directors company-wide for cross-functional initiatives

Developing the Sales Force --- This key responsibility includes self development and required leadership skills.

  • Recruiting, Selecting and Training Sales Managers
  • Coaching and mentoring Sales Managers
  • Establishing Goals & Measurements for new managerial behaviors
  • Monthly regional review sessions with managers (one on one).
  • Assuring Accountability for managerial work, by
  • Designing a sales effectiveness process which includes:
  • Creation of Commission Plans
  • Goal setting
  • Opportunity reporting
  • Pipeline management
  • Performance scorecards

Managing the Sales organization to achieve our Financial Plan --- Stewarding the Sales team and through effective relationships cross-company to hit or exceed our targets

  • Managing to a Departmental Income Statement
  • Setting Budgets
  • Devising Territories
  • Forecasting Revenue Accurately
  • Partnering continuously with other Departmental Directors company-wide
  • Requesting and Reviewing data analytics
  • Presenting to VP of Sales

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of sales experience
  • 5 years of sales leadership experience, consistently hitting sales targets
  • Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions and campaigns
  • Planning and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Managers
  • Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally
  • Preparing sales budgets and projections
  • Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics 
  • Suggest actions to improve sales processes, to include creating proposal materials, researching contracts, market analysis, assisting with onboarding processes, etc.
