Director of Finance

As a Director of Finance you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day finance efforts and lead the Accounting Department. What you’ll do

S-Suite Responsibilities

  • Liaise with C-Suite to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Work closely and amicably with other Senior Vice Presidents (Director Of Construction, Director of Events, Director of HR, Director of Marketing, Director of Operations) to develop and help implement strategic plans and initiatives

Accounting

  • Direct regular accounting analyses, including the review and reporting of operational, departmental and project budgets
  • Develop, refine, and direct us of account systems
  • Coordinate audits and work with internal teams to meet operating goals
  • Oversee audit and tax functions
  • Develop and implement Accounting Department policies and best practices
  • Prepare operating budgets, and coordinate with other departments to implement project-specific budgets

Finance

  • Direct financial planning and strategy
  • Analyze projects and produce projections and pro formas to help guide analytical decision making
  • Coordinate directly with financial institutions to assist with financing compliance, management, and regulation
  • Analyze complex financial data

Risk Management

  • Assess, manage, and minimize risk using implemented risk management best practices
  • Direct profit forecasts, and expense budget analyses
  • Analyze and implement internal controls

Grant Administration

  • Identify grants for Company purposes
  • Work with other departments (primarily Operations) to apply for applicable grants
  • Assist with grant management and compliance

What you need to thrive in this role

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in an Accounting or Finance-related position
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • CPA Certificate is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an executive-level management position

Competencies

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Ability to proceed independently
  • Political and cross-cultural awareness
  • Proficient with QuickBooks (Desktop – Version 2018 or later)
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance
