Mycoworks has an immediate opening for a Controller. The ideal candidate is a CPA with over ten years of related experience. They will guide, mentor and train the accounting team of three, anchor the month-end close process and external auditor interface and prepare the month/quarter and year end close financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements 
• In conjunction with the VP of Finance, implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets and implement Mycoworks policies, procedures, and workflows
• Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity and mentor, guide and train the accounting team

• Anchor the month/quarter and year end close process (Mycoworks is on a five-day close calendar)
• Anchor the external auditor interface, including audit scope, procedures, PBC list requirements, audit adjustments, FS disclosures, and MD&A
• Prepare and submit month/quarter and year-end close financial statements for review and approval to the VP of Finance and CFO
• Anchor the accounting and filing of Corporate taxes, business license tax, sales and use taxes, etc. in collaboration with Mycowork’s tax services provider
• Act as the main point of contact with supply chain and other internal departments for all matters related to accounting
• Provide subject matter expertise to the ERP implementation team

Qualifications:

• Ten years plus of related experience, CPA required
• Must be hands-on- comfortable in a startup environment with limited support staff
• Experience with Chart of Accounts, tax planning, and filings for manufacturing business 
• Familiarity with Quickbooks Online (QBO), Concur Expense and Invoice, Bill.com, Carta (eShares), and MS Dynamics
• Degree in Accounting; MBA a plus
