Multi-Color Corporation Recruiting is Hiring a Flexo Press Operator (3rd shift) Near Omaha, NE

Job Objective: The Press Operator is responsible for supporting the goals of the plant in the efficient operation of a press, printing labels to specification, and assuring that quality is being maintained in a consistent manner. Press Operators may be expected to run equipment with UV and/or water-based ink. Presses can have up to twelve stations. This is a technical and skilled position, and a candidate must have flexo printing experience to be considered. An ideal candidate is someone mechanically inclined with solid printing-environment experience, strong math skills, good attendance, and a desire to grow their career with us! The shift that is open is 3rd shift, Sun– Thurs, 9:45pm – 6:00am Primary Duties: Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures Read job ticket carefully before set-up and run Input job order information into the computer (i.e. roll track numbers, correct activities, job specification, etc.); set specifications on the machine (measurement accuracy and attention to detail required) Consistent operation of AVT (as applicable based on Press) Maintain a clean workspace and press/press-area before, during and after each job Inspect jobs and flag (or remove as applicable) all defects using strobe light and/or AVT equipment (Warning: Viewing of the strobe light may trigger epileptic seizures in persons with photo sensitive epilepsy) Check completed job for quality Performs and supports Preventative Maintenance on press Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC, including but not limited to handling procedures, paperwork requirements, and operation of the AVT quality inspection machine Complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation, making appropriate verifications prior to submitting job for supervisory approval Completes Roll End section of Quality Control checklist making appropriate verifications as every master roll is run on press Responsible for following processes and procedures Responsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace; light maintenance of machinery and troubleshooting problems may be required as applicable and safe to do so Perform test runs as required Participation in department meetings, process improvement events, training, and safety program as scheduled Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned Responsible for working with Press Assistant(s) (as applicable) to support production schedule and applicable goals/KPIs on press Assist Press Assistant(s) with clean-ups/changeovers, as necessary May be expected to use other additional quality inspection tools such as AVT. Related duties as assigned Experience/Skills Required: High school education or equivalent required Knowledge of printing processes and previous experience as strong Press Operator, Assistant, or skilled Rewind Operator required Must be able to work any shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 20 feet (frequently); ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and carry up to 10 feet (occasionally) Proven ability to understand and operate roll lifts, press equipment, and operate in a safe manner Ability to run press and assist press set-up, and clean-up Proven commitment to the business (must not be on discipline for attendance, performance, or attitude) Strong attention to detail Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test) Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test) Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test) Ability to input data in the computer Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions Ability to stand for long periods of time (12 hour shifts) Must be able to relate to, work with, and influence as needed, people at all levels of the organization Assertive and solution-focused Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude, team player PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to: · Wear hearing, foot, eye and/or other personal protective equipment while in a manufacturing setting· Continually stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb and balance; moderate to frequent walking· Routinely use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and manipulate items; use hands and arms to reach for items in and around the press area; occasionally stoop or kneel while reaching· Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds· Regularly push or pull objects up to 40 pounds· Specific vision abilities include – close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish color variations, and ability to adjust focus · Medium to loud noise environment· Work flexible/varying schedules and hours as needed · Workovertime as required by workload and customer mandated deadlines Internal Candidates must NOT be on any form of formal disciplinary action in the past 6 months due to overall performance; quality, productivity, or attendance issues. We are an EOE, and Drug-Free workplace. All finalist candidates will be required to pass certain pre-employment requirements.
