Mueller Co. LLC is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II Near Chattanooga Plant, TN

Manufacturing engineers are responsible for developing control strategies for manufacturing processes throughout the value stream. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Safety: First and foremost, we are here to ensure a safe working environment for the valued employees within our facility and every business action must be rooted in that knowledge Responsible for the improvement of existing machining processes Responsible for the planning, designing, documenting, and launching of a new manufacturing process and product line, utilizing lean manufacturing concepts; focus on heavy machining and related manufacturing processes Plan and design manufacturing processes and metrics to measure production and increase safety, quality, productivity, product flow and reliability through innovative solutions Conceive, investigate, evaluate, and recommend new equipment and tooling Participates in the design and ordering of new equipment or maintain and improve existing equipment by working with Maintenance, Supervision, and engineering management. Develop new production techniques and assists with troubleshooting the manufacturing process; May provide technical leadership and assist in training other employees and engineers Develop and write technical documents such as equipment performance specifications, action plans, responsibility lists, weekly project reports, work instructions, weld procedures, test procedures and other documentation to support factory operations Communicates and cooperates with other departments to facilitate efficient operations, particularly Product Management, Engineering and Manufacturing, regarding design, specifications, delivery, and service Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and multi-task to meet deadlines Identifies opportunities for new equipment, tooling, new or improved methods/process, manufacturing techniques etc.; actively supports and drives these activities to conclusion with positive results Provide engineering support for assigned value streams, implementing improvements to better meet customer and company needs Provide Creo & Auto CAD, solid works working models/drawings according to requirements and completed on schedule Develop new production techniques and assists with troubleshooting the manufacturing process Performs such other duties as may be assigned from time to time Required Education / Experience: 4-year Engineering degree or a Minimum of 5 years equivalent experience. Strong working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma tools 5 years Minimum experience programming with Mastercam multi axis mill and lathe Knowledgeable in high-speed machining practices. Strong understanding and familiarity with varied machining processes and tools Strong Knowledge of fixtures and work holding design/fabrication Strong Knowledge of automation and robotic applications Strong Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing-machining situations, hardware Experience with machine simulation software Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills including 3D CAD software Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications/GD&T Strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers, and outside professionals Knowledge dealing with manufacturing situations, quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, technical specifications, and project management FARO Arm experience is a plus FANUC 31i experience is a plus Familiarity with machining Ductile cast iron Additional Details: Relocation assistance may be offered for this position for the right candidate.
