Mud Pie is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Stone Mountain, GA

Position Summary:

Mud Pie is currently seeking an experienced accountant to assist with general accounting and finance operations. Successful candidates will be passionate about accounting/business/numbers and possess a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial transactions within an organization.

This is a newly created role on a growing accounting and finance team.

This position will report directly to the VP of Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct any errors as needed
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist with managing corporate credit card program
  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all general ledger accounts
  • Assist with preparing and presenting monthly financial statements
  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by management
  • Assist with AP/AR as needed for special projects 
  • Will cross train with all members of the finance team (Credit, A/R, A/P)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Corporate accounting or finance experience
  • Strong debit and credit skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly and succinctly analyze and summarize financial information and trend
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Tech savvy and advanced MS Excel and ERP skills
  • Organized and able to work independently
  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate positive and professional behavior as a member of a team
