We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Graphic Designer to join our marketing team and elevate our visual brand.

As our first Graphic Designer, your mission is to be the Marketing team’s authority on our visual brand. You should be excited about contributing to the company’s evolving visual brand and creating amazing digital assets across channels. You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have a stellar attention to detail, pride yourself on being a great communicator and excel in giving and receiving constructive feedback.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and oversee all design projects for the marketing team, and collaborating with design, product and other teams across projects as needed
• Develop digital assets for Muck Rack’s content channels including the Muck Rack Blog, website, newsletters, social channels, Academy and more
• Design data visualizations for ongoing research reports like The State of Journalism and other long-form content
• Create slide deck presentations for virtual and in-person events
• Collaborate across teams (including executive teams) on time-sensitive design iterations
• Execute and maintain Muck Rack’s style guide across channels and assets
• Manage freelance designers

• Visual brand consistency across channels
• Develop and oversee a design approval process
• Creation of new visual assets
• Ability to hit agreed upon deadlines

• 4 years of digital graphic design experience, including experience working with a marketing team
• Experience developing data visualizations, including complex graphs
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience designing slide decks, ebooks, social media visuals and other content marketing assets
• Comfort with building on an existing visual design library
• Illustration skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Figma
• Experience working with/managing freelancers a plus
• SaaS experience a plus
• Video production skills a plus (Premiere Pro, Camtasia)

Salary

In the US, the starting salary for this role is between $79,000 and $95,000 , depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.
