Supply Chain Program Manager
We are looking to grow our team with the addition of a Supply Chain Program Manager. The Supply Chain Program Manager will provide leadership to ensure effective long-term partnerships with customers and suppliers that accomplish the business objectives at MSEI. The ideal candidate will lead through a combination of technical and business skills to improve the supply chain and associated processes with internal and external customers and system-based automation. They will lead development and implementation of customer, supplier and commodity strategies. They will Identify opportunities to improve business development and performance to contribute to the continued success and profitability at MSEI.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and implement where needed exception based management of materials and material flow to leverage MSEI systems and provide transparency throughout the organization. Ensure proper support of materials to support development projects, and phase in / phase out of new programs.
- Manage the growth, profitability and execution of MSEI’s 3rd party contract manufacturing portfolio of electronics components and assemblies for OEM customers.
- Manage internal S&OP cycle requirements within MSEI, including material and production readiness assessments to enable OTIF performance, by utilizing MSEI’s data systems.
- Manage internal and external customer expectations by aligning customer service with realistic supply chain lead times and production schedules.
- Commodity Strategies: Develop commodity and supplier strategies for long-range business direction. Partner with senior management and technical staff to develop and lead strategy implementation.
- Project Management: lead, coordinate and execute project plans to completion including documentation, presentation and communication. Participate as a contributing team member on other projects as assigned.
- Asset Management: Ensure inventory and quality management strategies are executed which support the business plan and operating objectives.
- Cost Management: Initiate and manage total costs which result in price reductions, value and productivity improvements, cost avoidances and cost performance trade-offs
- Manage the supplier base including contract management, performance reviews and development strategies for on-going improvements in business performance and for the consolidation of business awards and a reduced supplier base.
- Lead supplier selection and partnering toward suppliers with broad strategic capabilities, best support and competitive advantage.
- Understand and communicate to Operations organization, supply market trends and potential implications.
- Develop agreements that clearly identify the intent and responsibilities of both parties and assure compliance with all appropriate legal requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field (preferred) or equivalent, with M.S. (business) or MBA preferred.
- Five to ten years’ experience as a senior-level procurement agent or supply chain executive in the high-tech industry.
- Proven cross-functional team leadership and team building skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with customer and all levels of the company, especially senior management.
- Experience in understanding and interpreting complex business tactics, developing and managing effective relationships utilizing communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated inventory management skills focused on COGS reduction and efficiency.
- Understanding of electronics and/or commodity technology and its application, including products and process.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Powerpoint. Expert-level Excel skills highly desirable.
- Strong decision making and risk management skills.
- Knowledge and use of financial analysis and accounting principles.
- Knowledge and anticipation of market trends and economic conditions.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- SAP or other leading-edge ERP system expert level knowledge in materials and supply chain.
- Lean principles / value stream experience preferred.
