MRIGlobal is Hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel Near Kansas City, MO

Basic FunctionThe Associate Corporate Counsel will provide general legal advice and representation to MRIGlobal with a primary emphasis on transactional work including but not limited to drafting and structuring transactions, contract review, and negotiating and managing commercial contracts. This position will be involved in day-to-day business activities and will assist the General Counsel in establishing policies to drive positive results and minimize risk to MRIGlobal. Nature and ScopeThe Associate Corporate Counsel will report to the Vice President and General Counsel. This position requires excellent writing skills and experience drafting agreements, handling transactional matters and analyzing issues and risks involved in transactions. Demonstrates good judgement in making decisions that affect legal matters, negotiations, policies and procedures that impact MRIGlobal operating strategies and performance. Essential FunctionsResearches, reviews, interprets, drafts and negotiates a variety of commercial agreements and legal documents including, but not limited to commercial proposals and contracts, master service agreements, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements and consulting agreementsReviews contractual arrangements for compliance and risk issuesWorks directly with internal clients without close supervisionContributes to the development and improvement of contract templates and internal training materialsAssists the Corporate Counsel with export control mattersProvides legal and non-legal advice to the General Counsel and other key individuals in MRIGlobal. Advocates and solves problems for clients using a variety of legal toolsPerforms other legal and contracts related duties as assigned Success FactorsDemonstrates understanding of standard MRIGlobal business policy/practices, basic contracting regulations, techniques, concepts, and practices and applies this knowledge in appropriate situationsDemonstrates understanding of contractual issues with the ability to develop successful strategies to address them during negotiationsExcellent team orientation, problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsFlexible and proactive approach to problems and demands, with the ability to react quickly and positively to a challenging , fast-paced, ever changing environmentAbility to work independently, prioritize a heavy workload and work under pressure within stringent deadlines and constraintsSensitivity to confidential informationAbility to plan, meet fiscal objectives, and consistently grow to meet staff needsProficient PC skills and ability to learn new software and systemsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) from an accredited ABA law school with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
