That's the FACE Culture that we live and breathe here at MRA. We are seeking an enthusiastic payroll professional who is passionate about payroll processing and other key administrative support functions.

Position: Payroll Specialist

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as the first line of contact for members of MRA and assists them in ensuring that their payroll inquiries have been thoroughly resolved in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
  2. Coordinates directly with the payroll vendor to resolve issues regarding payroll processing (i.e. garnishment resolutions, union dues, and various taxing authorities) and communicates and coordinates internally and with the vendor in meeting new or changing needs. Consults with internal HR and other leaders to identify pain points and opportunities for process improvement.
  3. Enters and maintains all employee payroll data.
  4. Communicates basic requirements and conducts new hire orientation to the electronic time and leave the system. Conducts individual ongoing training as needed.
  5. Reviews timesheets after manager approval to check for missing or inconsistent information, and communicates with supervisor and employee, collaborating to clarify and correct as needed.
  6. Processes payroll according to scheduled cycles, including all authorized payroll items such as garnishments and deductions.
  7. Prepares reports.
  8. Writes and delivers custom reports for senior team, managers, and employees as requested of information from payroll and time management system.
  9. Supports compliance requirements of federal, state, and local regulations, including communications with payroll processing vendors.
  10. Support Accounting and Benefits Administration in reconciling monthly benefit invoices to deductions/contributions shown in the payroll system and collaborates with Internal HR to correct any discrepancies.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Additional Performance Criteria:

Education:

  • Requires an Associate's degree.

Training or Experience:

  • 3-5 years of strong payroll administration, experience preferable in a multi-state organization required.

Any other special requirements necessary to do the job:

  • Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines such as a computer and the job-related software, a keyboard, calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc. Requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
