What’s a typical Shipping Clerk’s day like with Remke? Check out the variety of responsibilities:

The Shipping Clerk works effectively and efficiently in a dispatch and warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Collaborates with shipping and warehouse teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Efficiently works within a busy dispatch department
• Packs and unpacks orders to maintain department schedule
• Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock
• Creates shipping labels and processes shipping information
• Solves problems for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders
• Performs administrative duties like answering phones, updating records, and providing excellent customer service
• Liaises with material handlers and managers about product ordering and storage
• Works well with shipping team to complete orders on time
• Maintains shipping area in a clean and organized manner ensuring all tools, fixtures, materials, and other supplies are clean and put away in the proper locations
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on material handling equipment

• 6-12 months of prior related experience preferred
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Ability to read and understand all shipping and receiving documentation including Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Bill of Materials, Sales Orders (Picking Lists), and Special Instructions
• Ability to safely operate forklift equipment a plus
