Job Title: Human Resources Generalist 

SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including new hire processing, onboarding and orientation. This position will be the support person for the HR team and will need benefits have a strong understanding of company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New employee orientation
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. HR support
  • Responsible for planning and executing company events
  • Responsible for the general HR knowledge and benefits for the organization
  • Monthly communications, via PowerPoint
  • Manage employee milestones
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Proactively support the organization’s goals and objectives

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS APD system

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment and may be required to walk, sit, stand, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is required to use dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to lift and transport items up to 10 pounds occasionally.
