The Software Engineer will be responsible for building out new features and functions to support business process improvements and scalability. This individual must be self-driven to learn our technology stack and develop solutions meeting the business needs. This individual will be working closely with the rest of the development team in an agile environment. Actively reviewing requirements from the business, offering input on possible solutions, building solutions collaboratively and meeting team deliverables from sprint to sprint are key to being successful in this role.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support of existing software applications used by the company in its day-to-day business 

• Debugging, fixing and enhancing existing software 

• Developing front-end user experience with a focus on intuitive ease of use

• Developing robust and scalable integrations between in house and SAAS applications 

• Designing, developing, and testing full-stack software solutions for the business

• Conduct and participate in application code reviews for correctness and quality as necessary.

• Work with stakeholders and product owners to gather and analyze business requirements and work out use cases to drive business outcomes. 

• Participate in workshops such as, but not limited to, Refinements and Design Sessions

• Perform any necessary data validation and write/execute queries.

• Contribute to all technical aspects of development and integration (developing, configuring, unit testing, bug fixing, release management, etc.).

• Work alongside Product Designers to deliver front-end user experiences with a focus on attracting/retaining customers and intuitive ease of use. 

• Work alongside Quality Assurance to deliver long-term, scalable, and highly performant solutions.

• Work alongside Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure solutions are delivered according to specifications. 

• Work with and mentor jr. developers 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience with front-end web development leveraging React, Next.Js, HTML5, JavaScript, Jquery, and CSS

• Experience writing back-end web restful services

• Experience in customer facing, high-traffic websites

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, serverless functions)

• Experience working with SCRUM teams and ability to follow development processes 

• Demonstrate grasp of using source control management software git/GitHub 

• Experience in writing automated unit tests including front-end component testing

• Demonstrated ability to write software code in more than one software language 

• Demonstrated ability in at least one database technology and query language 

• Familiar with designing, writing, profiling, debugging and testing code

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• SQL experience or demonstrated knowledge of database construction and design 

• Experience supporting cloud-based (AWS, Google Cloud, etc) solutions 

• Experience using GoLang, React, and NextJs

• Experience using Azure Dev Ops

• Experience in developing integrations with Salesforce

• Experience with mentoring other developers

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• 5-8 years IT experience in a Software development capacity

• Experience developing with REACT 

• Experience developing with GoLang a plus

• Ability to drill down into the details of a delivery request without losing sight of the big picture.

• Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships

• Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge

• Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly and demonstrate effective problem solving and follow-up skills
