Shipping/ Receiving

Position summary: Under the general supervision of the Production & Materials Coordinator, verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
• Operate the stretch wrap banders.
• Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Other duties as required.
• Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
• Report any potential food safety, quality of food defense concerns to the Production & Materials Coordinator or quality personnel.
• Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systems.
• Must Follow All company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications required:

• High school/GED
• One year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving
• Basic computer knowledge
• Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to recognize erroneous data
• FORKLIFT/LIFT TRUCK EXPERIENCE A MUST

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed to high noise levels that require hearing protection. Employee may also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.
