Position: R&D Scientist
Location: Denton, TX
Work Style: 100% onsite

Our client, HealthTrackRX, is the Nation's Leading PCR Laboratory. We are assisting them in their search for a R&D Scientist position.

Job Summary:

Performs all assigned tasks and experiments with 100% transparency and accuracy while helping bring R&D projects from conception to a functioning product/assay.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties: Performs sample prep and DNA extraction. Running the Firefly, Star, Accufill and Quanstudio 12K and 5. Performing manual pipetting steps with small volumes and into 96 and 384 well plate. Reviewing all QC checkpoints to ensure validity of the results. Acquire training and thereafter perform experimentations on any new equipment set up in the R&D lab. Assist with assay and protocol development. Report experimental findings to the Principal Scientist and VP of R&D. Review and analyze data from all experiments with the knowledge of molecular diagnostics methodologies and statics. Perform lab-associated tasks and trainings as delegated by VP R&D. Assist with ID lab validation experiments. Assist with preparing reagents (primers, master mixes, controls, etc.) that will be needed for R&D and ID lab assays and functions.

Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor of Science with 4 years of previous experience or master's degree with 2 years of previous experience required.

Competencies/Skills: Good knowledge of molecular biology, laboratory testing methodologies and statistics Excellent attention to detail Ability to multitask Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience: 2-4 years working in a similar field Mental/Physical Demands & Work Environment: Vision, hearing speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to sit for extended periods. Light physical effort requires handling average weight objects up to 10 lbs and some standing and walking. Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations' situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials including biological and chemical hazards.
