JOB SUMMARY:

The position of Mammography Technologist requires certification by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and knowledge of radiology protocols, positioning and mammography procedures, equipment and MQSA standards for quality and safety. The Mammography Technologist is responsible for effective, diplomatic and empathetic communications to patients, their families and referring physician offices.

• Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre- and post-procedure instructions, completing exam forms, and verifying patient's identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters.
• Conduct screening mammography exams by explaining the procedure to the patient, updating patient history, preparing images for reading by Radiologist and finalizing exam.
• Conduct routine start up and closing operations including turning on equipment, performing quality control and complete work queues.
• Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers.
• Document the patient's exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications, and societies.

• Education: High School Diploma minimum, RT-R (M)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience. Must be able to conduct screening and diagnostic.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Mammography in good standing. BLS Certification (Required).
