Moxy NYC Times Square is Hiring a Housekeeping Manager Near New York, NY

Summary:

As the Housekeeping Manager, you would be responsible for managing daily Housekeeping operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and conduct room inspections.
  • Follows up with room attendants on all cleanliness discrepancies from prescribed standards. This includes discussion, documentation, and progressive disciplinary action when needed.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the front desk regarding late checkouts, do not disturb rooms, and discrepancy rooms.
  • Controls daily key inventory and monthly linen inventory.
  • Ensures all associates use proper safety techniques.
  • Maintains guest lost and found program following standards. 
  • Follows up with housemen on the cleanliness of corridors, guest hallways, rooms. detail cleaning, cleanliness of floors, shampooing of carpet, and keeping all housekeeping closets stocked and organized. 
  • Manage daily housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, maintaining cleanliness, service, and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices, and meeting space.
  • Ensure rooms are clean and available to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage daily systems use and management, cost controls, and overall profitability, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation, enforcement, and meeting participation and facilitation.
  • Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Additional duties as described by the Housekeeping Management Team.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar position is required.
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Position requires a varied work schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Computer skills required, including Word and Excel.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present one-on-one and small group situations to customers effectively, clients, and other staff members of the organization and hospitality community.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Must be able to operate cleanliness equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, wet vac, and carpet machines.

Working Environment:

  • The work environment requires team members to spend most of their time on their feet.

Physical Demands:

Able to stand for 8 hours.

Able to bend and kneel for low-area cleaning.

Able to lift 30 pounds.

Able to push a cart weighing 75lbs.

Able to communicate with other departments
