Movement Strategy is Hiring a Resource Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

Resource Manager

Position: Full-time

Location: New York, Denver, Los Angeles

OVERVIEW:

Movement Strategy is an independent social media agency. Now at its 15-year, with 145 employees across offices, we produce groundbreaking content for partners including Netflix, Klarna, Amazon Prime Video, and Warner Bros. 

Our Resource Manager is diplomatic, analytical, highly organized, and passionate about making the agency run smoother through partnering with department leads to fill the gaps on project teams. They oversee and manage project staffing and out-of-office coverage planning while providing support to the Operations team on streamlining cross-functional resourcing processes and reporting related to capacity, burn, and utilization. They will play a pivotal role in managing agency allocations and helping us scale and pivot to meet the needs of our clients, while developing a strong understanding of our departments’ talents and skill sets, how best to staff our projects, and help achieve our broader agency goals for growth. This role has huge room for growth, as Resourcing is an imperative function of the Operations team!

REPORTING STRUCTURE & COHORTS

  • Direct Supervisor: Associate Director, Operations
  • Close Cohorts: COO, Senior Leadership (all departments), Operations Manager, Talent Acquisition

KEY FOCUS AREAS

Your core responsibilities center around autonomously reviewing new resource demands, prioritizing against team availability, and gauging the need for freelance and/or new hire support. You’ll work closely with team leadership to identify opportunities for increasing efficiencies and maintaining healthy utilization across all teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strong understanding of team strengths across all disciplines, to successfully determine appropriate staffing for project opportunities
  • Review and advise on staff plan allocations based on active scopes and new business forecasting
  • Identify needs for freelance and/or new hire support where/when needed, providing all details necessary for Finance approval
  • Work hand-in-hand with recruiting teams to help assist with both proactive and reactive hiring needs
  • Create strong rapport with department leads, staying in lockstep on team allocations, staffing challenges, and pain points, and acting as liaison between department leads, Operations, and Talent Acquisition 
  • Uphold staff agency capacity goals through collaborating with department leads and managers to identify and problem-solve resourcing issues
  • Oversee process for project assignments and coverage planning across all departments
  • Update agency resourcing tools to reflect staff allocations/capacity across all departments on an ongoing basis
  • Support Operations team on analyzing agency staff KPIs, goals, and trends to make recommendations and inform business decisions

REQUIREMENTS 

  • 3-5 years of post-college experience in advertising (background: Resourcing, Project Management, or Operations)
    • PM and/or RM certifications or classes are a plus!
  • Ability to analyze and understand agency staffing plans, allocations, and resourcing reporting
  • Comfortable communicating and working directly with department heads/leadership are a must
  • Autonomous and accountable for your work and responsibilities, managing up to your supervisor on an ongoing basis
  • Strong problem-solver, thinking outside of the box and providing creative solutions to any challenge
  • Knowledge and experience using resource management tools, like:
    • Mavenlink (ideal)
    • Harvest/Forecast
    • NetSuite
    • Asana
    • Strong experience with MS Excel and/or Google Sheets are a plus!

SALARY & COMPENSATION

In compliance with local and state law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles that will be performed in New York City, Colorado, and California. The range listed is just one component of Movement Strategy’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards

Pay Range: $75-95k salary per year
